Home Schooling Versus Public Education
Many parents would prefer their children did not attend a public school. This could be because the school system is bad or actually harming their children. On the other hand, there are parents who are home schooling their children for religious reasons. Regardless of any of these things, home schooling parents believe that they have made the best educational choice for their children.

Whenever it comes to a child's growth and academic development there can be little doubt that home schooling usually produces superior results in comparison to the results of a traditional school setting. This can be seen in such things as home school children winning the National Spelling Bee, as well as the number of home school children who have gone on to attain degrees at some of our finest universities, often at a very young age.
Home Schooling Versus Public Education
When one considers the education of their children, often, choosing home schooling versus public education becomes an issue. There are many things to consider in the home schooling versus public education choice. A parent should carefully review and consider all the advantages and disadvantages to the different forms of education and look at their child and their ability to teach their child prior to making a decision. With careful consideration the parent can make a good decision for the whole family regarding home schooling versus public education.
Most states do not require parents to have any education qualifications in order to home school their children. Critics say this lack of knowledge puts home-schooled children and is what is ineffective about home schooling. Nothing could be further from the truth. Home schooling parents take their children education very seriously and go to great length to ensure the highest quality education possible.
Many feel that home schooling is what only wealthy, white Christian parents do. While a good percentage of home schooling family do fit into some of those categories, every day more people decide to home school that come from different walks of life. What is great about home schooling since the advent of the Internet is that it no longer takes a great deal of money to put together a highly educational curriculum plan.
Home School Disadvantages
This disadvantage of home schooling should be taken seriously and the family needs to be ready for the economic changes in the home. The most often overlooked home school disadvantages is the fact that a parent will have to be at home with the child each day to monitor and instruct the education. This can be a great disadvantage initially but the rewards of home schooling a child can be much greater than the sacrifice.
While home schooling is not an easy option, it undoubtedly works for both the children and the parents who put for the effort that it requires.
